Cisco® MGE Small Form-Factor Pluggable (SFP) or mini Gigabit Interface Converter (mini-GBIC) transceivers are simple-to-install modules that add fibre connectivity or an additional Gigabit Ethernet port to Cisco 100, 200, 300, and 500 Series switches. The transceivers can support distances ranging from 100 metres to 40 kilometres and are available for single-mode or multimode fiber-optic cabling.
